Why this page has no lyrics
Song lyrics are protected by copyright, and this site does not publish them. If you are searching for the pinyin of one particular song, such as a famous ballad, the method below gets you the pinyin for the text on your screen, from the source you already use.
Method 1: paste lyrics into the converter
- Copy the lyrics from a lyrics page, a streaming app or a video description you can legitimately view.
- Open the converter and paste the text.
- Choose tone marks if you will read along, or tone numbers if you will paste into a spreadsheet.
- Copy Chinese + pinyin to keep each line with its pinyin.
The line above is only a short example sentence, not a song's lyrics.
Method 2: annotate lyrics shown as video subtitles
If the lyrics appear as subtitles in a video player, install the browser extension and turn on Auto-annotate video subtitles. Pinyin appears above each line while the video plays. This only works when the lyrics are text on the page (not part of the picture).
Singing and reading along: what to watch for
- Pinyin shows the spoken reading of each character. Sung words can be stretched, and a lyric may deliberately use a different reading.
- Names and rare words may need a quick dictionary check.
- Tones in singing follow the melody; pinyin still marks the tone of the spoken word, which helps you learn the vocabulary.
