Make pinyin flashcards and export them to Anki
Save words from the converter, practise them in the exercises, and export the list to Anki (a TSV file) or to PDF. The export requires signing in with Google; saving and practising do not.

- Open My dictionary to see the saved words with their pinyin and meaning.
- Open Exercises and choose a mode (see below) to practise.
- Sign in with Google and use Export to Anki or Export PDF.
Practice modes
| Mode | What it practises |
|---|---|
| Pinyin | Typing the pinyin of a word (tone numbers such as ni3 hao3 are accepted) |
| Characters | Recognising the characters of a word |
| Meaning | Knowing what a word means |
| Listen | Understanding a word you hear (there is a play button) |
| Speak | Saying the word aloud (needs microphone access) |
New users start with a set of 10 basic characters. The exercises show words you got wrong more often and repeat the one you just saw less.
The Anki file
Export to Anki gives you a UTF-8 tab-separated file that Anki can import. After import, map the columns to your note fields (Chinese, pinyin, meaning). The PDF export is a ready-to-print list.
